29. Indiana Pacers (via Boston Celtics) – Trayce Jackson-Davis, F, Indiana
The Indiana Pacers, with their final pick in the first round, could end up rolling the dice on one of the most productive collegiate players this past season. Trayce Jackson-Davis is coming off a season in which he averaged 21 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists on 58 percent shooting from the field.
Somewhat of an undersized big who has the skill set of a more traditional center, it’ll be interesting to see how TJD ends up being graded compared to other prospects in the NBA Draft. TJD doesn’t have the ability to stretch defenses to the 3-point line and that could be one of the bigger reasons why he isn’t selected higher in the first round.
30. LA Clippers (via Milwaukee Bucks) – Jordan Hawkins, G, UCONN
With the final pick in the first round, the LA Clippers could look to take one of the best shooters in the draft – Jordan Hawkins. Coming off an impressive run in the NCAA Tournament with UCONN, it wouldn’t be surprising if he found a way to be taken higher. But if he’s there at No. 30, he’s a player that could make sense for the Clippers.
During his sophomore season at UCONN, Hawkins averaged 16 points and four rebounds on 39 percent shooting from 3-point range. If nothing else, he could end up being a 3-point shooting specialist at the next level.
