27. Charlotte Hornets (via Denver Nuggets) – Donovan Clingan, C, UCONN

If the Charlotte Hornets are still looking for a big, it wouldn’t be surprising if they ended up taking a chance on Donovan Clingan, a 7-foot-2 big out of UCONN. Clingan wasn’t all that productive during his freshman season at UCONN, but he’s a player that will draw interest simply because of his physical presence and his interior defensive potential.

Of course, the big concern with Clingan is whether or not he’ll be able to defend effectively in space. And with the way the NBA has been trending as of late, that is a legit concern for any team looking to draft a big man.

28. Utah Jazz (via Philadelphia 76ers) – Dariq Whitehead, F, Duke

With another first-round pick, the Utah Jazz could take a flier on Dariq Whitehead. During his time with Duke, Whitehead proved that he could be a quality 3-point shooter and a strong defender. As a floor, the hope is that he can be a 3-and-D wing. But, at the same time, his ceiling is also so much higher.

The Jazz would be a solid landing spot for a prospect that is going to need a few years of development.
