Injuries could ruin this year’s NBA Playoffs

The general saying is that injuries are a part of the NBA game and, for the most part, there’s never one year that is all that worse than the others. And while in the grand scheme of things that may be true, the first weekend of the NBA Playoffs was absolutely brutal when it came to injuries. Through just the slate of Game 1s, there are already multiple big names out with injuries.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ja Morant, and Tyler Herro could all miss time in the playoffs because of injuries that they suffered in Game 1. Herro will miss the remainder of the season and the status of Giannis and Morant heading into Game 2 is still up in the air. Not to mention the LA Clippers entered the season without Paul George, who the most recent reports indicate that he’s likely going to miss the entirety of round 1.

It’s been a rough start for the NBA Playoffs and injuries have already made an impact. The Bucks probably don’t lose Game 1 without Giannis and who knows if the Grizzlies still end up losing to the Lakers – they were down by just four points with four minutes left in the game when he left with his injury.

The injuries have thrown a wet blanket on the start of this year’s NBA Playoffs.
