Oklahoma City Thunder
James Harden started his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder before he was ultimately traded to the Houston Rockets, where he blossomed as an NBA superstar, and it would be quite the story if he made a full circle and finished his career in OKC. Could it happen? Perhaps. The Thunder will have plenty of money to spend this offseason and if they decide to pursue a star, perhaps Harden could be on their radar.
If OKC is looking to make a splash this offseason in an attempt to give this team’s young core a veteran star to rally around, Harden would be an interesting target. He would be able to get his money and help lead the Thunder as one of the young teams that believe they’re “next up” in the West.
Even though there would be questions about fit, Harden would absolutely give the Thunder some legitimacy that they don’t currently have. And, if nothing else, it would be quite the experiment to watch unfold.
Harden could make the offseason that much more interesting if he tests free agency. While there’s no guarantee it will happen, it’s looking more and more like a real possibility.
