1. Scoot Henderson, G League Ignite
The overwhelming narrative entering this year’s NBA Draft class surrounded around the fact that Scoot Henderson would be the unanimous No. 1 draft pick if this was nearly any other year. But because of Victor Wembanyama, Henderson is likely going to be the No. 2 overall pick. That said, I don’t think there are any questions that he’s the No. 1 overall point guard prospect heading into the pre-draft process. And, quite frankly, I’m not sure there’s much that can happen over the next few weeks that will change that.
Henderson is an extremely great athlete that is on par with what we’ve seen recently from Ja Morant and Anthony Edwards. He’s a great finisher and has the ability and the skill set to be a great playmaker at the next level. If he can solve his uneven 3-point shooting, there’s no question that he could be a superstar.
If there is one big question about Henderson that he really can’t answer to, it’s the fact that he’s listed as 6-foot-2. With the way the modern point guards are trending, that’s on the smaller side. It’ll be interesting to see if that impacts him at all once he makes the jump to the NBA.
