Mikal Bridges, Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets just traded for Mikal Bridges at the NBA Trade Deadline but that was more about trying to get something of value in exchange for Kevin Durant than anything. And even though he was quite good for the Nets after he was traded, I’m not sure if he’s the player that the team wants to build around. Keep in mind, if the Nets aren’t entirely sold on him as a lead star, this would be the time to trade him.
You can make an argument that Bridges’ trade value is at an all-time high right now. Let’s be honest, the Nets aren’t a contender right now and it’s hard to see them luring any star players to play for them this offseason. If they were smart, they’d explore a trade for Bridges even if it is just to see what they could get back.
The Rockets should try to take advantage of that fact by offering up a quality young player that the Nets could look to develop into a superstar down the road in Jalen Green. And if they could also get another couple of first-round picks to replenish their assets, they should explore that.
And so should Houston.
