4. G.G. Jackson, South Carolina

G.G. Jackson didn’t garner many headlines during his freshman season at South Carolina, but he was doing things that should, at the very least, bring some intriguing surrounding his name as a prospect heading into the 2023 NBA Draft. As another one of these 6-foot-9 tweeners, there’s not one clear position that fits to describe the player that Jackson can be at the next level, but that’s also part of the intrigue surrounding him.

Jackson managed to be instant offense with the Gamecocks this past season, averaging 15 points and six rebounds per game on just 38 percent shooting from the field and 34 percent shooting from 3-point range. While there remain questions about his overall offensive decision-making, which are fair concerns considering how inefficient he was at times this past season, you’d have to wonder if that’s something that could be corrected once he makes the jump to the NBA.

If so, it’s easy to see why Jackson could be a first-round pick. Because that’s almost impossible to predict, it’s hard to say where Jackson gets drafted. If I had to guess, my sense is there’s a team that is willing to bet on his potential in the 16-25 range of the first round.
