The can’t miss: Victor Wembanyama, C, France

It should be no surprise to see Victor Wembanyama on this list. As arguably the best NBA Draft prospect ever, Victor appears to be the real deal. He’s going to immediately be the new face of the franchise for whoever team ends up winning the No. 1 overall draft pick. And there is reason to believe the hype.

Victor has it all. He’s a 7-foot-2 unicorn that doesn’t play like a 7-footer. He has guard skills and the capability to defend the rim like a true 7-footer. Even at this early stage of his development, Victor is already a three-level scorer on the offensive end. I suppose if there is one concern about Victor’s long-term potential, it’s his durability. He has a thin frame and durability is generally a concern for any 7-footer.

At the very least, that’s something that any team will have to keep in mind early on in his career.

But if Victor remains healthy, there’s no question that he could end up becoming a household superstar in the NBA sooner rather than later. His highlight videos are as unreal as his measurements and the hype surrounding him is on an entirely different level than we’ve seen probably since LeBron James.
