13. Toronto Raptors – Keyonte George, G, Baylor
One of the most polarizing prospects of this year’s draft class will likely end up being Keyonte George, an offensive-minded guard that had his ups and downs during his freshman season at Baylor. It’s tough to project just how good he can be at the next level but it’s clear that he has the tools and natural ability to develop into a star if he lands in the right situation. And the Toronto Raptors could be that for George late in the lottery.
Especially considering how much uncertainty this team has in the backcourt (with possibly both Fred VanVleet and Gary Trent Jr. testing free agency this offseason), it would not be all that surprising if the Raptors decided to take a chance on a guard with the No. 13 overall pick.
George did struggle with his offensive efficiency during his freshman season, but his other natural abilities could end up covering for those struggles. At the very least, they’re something to remember heading into his rookie season.
If he can become more efficient offensively, there’s no question that George can emerge as one of the better prospects taken late in the lottery.
