19. Golden State Warriors – Noah Clowney, F, Alabama
The Golden State Warriors have some things to figure out heading into the offseason. What will they do with Draymond Green? Will they extend Klay Thompson to a big-money contract extension? Will the team elect to have a bit of a youth movement this offseason?
All in all, the Warriors will have their hands full this summer. But one prospect that makes sense for the Warriors with the No. 19 pick is Noah Clowney. He had a solid freshman season at Alabama, and could just be scratching the surface on his overall potential heading into the NBA. He’d also add some insurance to the team’s frontcourt.
20. Houston Rockets (via LA Clippers) – Dereck Lively, C, Duke
With an additional first-round pick in this year’s NBA draft, the Houston Rockets are a team that will have plenty of flexibility heading into the summer – especially considering the free-agency noise that is surrounding the team. Dereck Lively is a player that could be of interest to this team.
He is somewhat of a throwback big man but is the type of difference-making rim protector that any team could still use at this point in the NBA Draft.
