Trade assets: 1. Mikal Bridges 2. Cam Johnson 3. Nic Claxton

After an offseason that featured highs of highs and lows of lows for the Brooklyn Nets, this is a team that is actually sitting in a favorable place after losing both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in a matter of days at last year’s NBA Trade Deadline. Thanks in large part to the emergence of Mikal Bridges, who appears to have the potential to be a budding star in this league.

It was well known that Bridges was talented during his time in Phoenix, but many didn’t know he was star-potential good until he got the opportunity to show that in Brooklyn. With the Nets, Bridges averaged 26 points, five rebounds, and three assists on 48 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from 3-point range. He’s clearly the Nets’ primary building block and, by proxy, the team’s best trade asset on the roster.

After Bridges, you have Cam Johnson who is a proven scorer and 3-point shooter in this league but will need to be re-signed this offseason. That could be at least a bit problematic for Brooklyn and is something to keep an eye on. Before the influx of Bridges and Johnson, Nic Claxton was having his coming out party next to KD and Kyrie. It’s a shame it didn’t work out but Claxton is still a really good young player.
