Damian Lillard
If there is one perfect scenario for the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason, it absolutely involves them acquiring Damian Lillard somehow. Of course, it’s extremely difficult to see how that is going to happen. Short of Lillard demanding a trade to the Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers willing to make it happen, the Lakers don’t really have the trade assets to outbid other teams in a potential all-out bidding war during the offseason.
Nevertheless, back in a hypothetical scenario, a trio of Lillard, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis would be difficult to beat on paper. But that’s probably why it is unlikely to happen in a non-NBA 2K scenario.
Then again, we have seen some weirder trades go down in NBA history before.
The Lakers will likely be looking to acquire a star this offseason. You’d have to imagine if they could get one at the point guard position, they’re going to do everything in their power to get such a move done. The question is, do the Lakers have enough firepower and salary cap flexibility to get a deal done?
