27. Charlotte Hornets (via Denver) – Noah Clowney, F, Alabama
Since the start of the NBA Draft season, Noah Clowney’s stock has been all over the place. At least for now, it seems that he’s going to be selected at some point in the first round but it doesn’t appear as if he’s going to be a lottery pick (which seemed to be on the table at one point this season).
Nevertheless, Clowney will still have the opportunity to be a good rotation player for a team down the line. With some big question marks in the frontcourt, it would not be surprising if the Charlotte Hornets decided to make a move for him if he’s available late in the first round.
28. Utah Jazz (via Philadelphia) – Jaime Jaquez Jr., F, UCLA
A final pick in the first round, the Utah Jazz could look to take the best player available approach here at No. 28, and hope you hit a home run. One prospect that should absolutely be drafted in the first round is Jaime Jaquez Jr. He’s one of those players that just gets it done. He’s a winner and has all the intangibles to be successful on any level.
