Development Staff and G-League

The majority of these players come from small backgrounds and small colleges, starting out between Division 3 or Division and in Jimmy Butler’s case, junior college. However, they were all given opportunities on bigger stages in college and they all capitalized on it, showing out and proving they had NBA potential.

Sooner or later, they all go to the G-League, and almost all play for the Skyforce. The Skyforce development team is seldom talked about, but they are the backbone of the Heat. It’s a win-win situation for the players; they get playing time and touches, experience, and most importantly, confidence.

Heat Culture is all about hard work, being the best version of yourself, effort, and teamwork and they don’t matter where you came from and whether you’re drafted or undrafted. And this year’s playoff run, no matter how it ends for the Miami Heat, is without a doubt being fueled by their undrafted players.
