A Karl-Anthony Towns for Dejounte Murray swap
After further thought by the Minnesota Timberwolves organization, even after the Rudy Gobert move last offseason, the plan seems to be to build around Anthony Edwards, which means a Karl-Anthony Towns trade could happen this offseason.
And there has been recent reporting that a trade of Towns could be on the horizon. If that is indeed true, the Hawks should absolutely jump in the mix.
Dumping Dejounte Murray and John Collins for Towns and a couple of young pieces would be ideal for Atlanta. The main reason this trade would work so well for Atlanta is pretty clear. Trae Young is the type of player that excels with the ball in his hand at almost all times.
Playing alongside Murray seems like it causes a problem with Young’s rhythm and efficiency on the offensive end. A return of Karl Anthony-Towns makes Atlanta a better team, but it also would be a good fit for Towns and a chance for him to adjust his game and make more of a winning impact with the Hawks.
