If the event that the Portland Trail Blazers end up trading Damian Lillard and it isn’t to the Miami Heat, there’s a good chance that Jerami Grant is likely going to pursue some sign and trade options. If he does, Miami should be one of the teams interested in potentially acquiring him from Portland. He’d be a good fit next to Bam Adebayo and is coming off a really good season in which he averaged 21 points and five rebounds per game on 48 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent shooting from 3-point range.

Add that to this Heat team and they’re probably a top 3 team in the conference. Grant has proven his worth and ability as a supporting star and there’s no question he’d be a useful piece for the Heat on this build.

The good news for Miami in any sign and trade deal is that it won’t cost nearly as much as a conventional trade. The Heat could probably get away with sending an expiring contract and a couple of future second-rounders (or a heavily protected future first-round pick) to the Blazers to make this deal happen.
