OG Anunoby

Considering that OG Anunoby was nearly traded at last year’s NBA Trade Deadine, or at least that’s what it felt it was building up towards for the Toronto Raptors, it would not be surprising if that’s something the team explored once again this offseason. Add in the fact that Fred VanVleet and Gary Trent Jr. could leave in free agency and there’s a very real possibility that the Raptors could explore a possible rebuild around some of their young players.

If Anunoby is on the trade block, there should be a litter of teams interested in trying him away from Toronto. One of the teams that should be among the group is the Miami Heat. Anunoby is the ideal Heat player. He is a strong two-way, overlooked star that keeps his head down and just produces. Anunoby would fit like a glove on this Heat team next to Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, especially on the defensive end.

And if Anunoby is looking for an expanded role, the Heat could effectively give him that. The Heat needs a supporting star that could assert himself on the offensive end of the floor. If Anunoby is ready for such a role, the Heat could offer him that chance.

The Heat, with three tradable future first-round picks, likely have enough to get a deal done. The big question is whether the Heat are willing to go all-in on Anunoby.
