Sending Tyler Herro to the Charlotte Hornets
In a much simpler two-team deal between the Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets, the two teams would come to a fair agreement. The Heat would send Tyler Herro, Kyle Lowry, and a protected 2027 first-round pick to the Hornets in exchange for Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward. The Hornets would add another intriguing piece for the new ownership group to advertise with and get a future asset as well.
This deal makes sense for the Heat as they get another bucket-getter in Rozier, which they desperately need, and an underrated playmaker at the point guard position at the same time. While Hayward may not be the same player he used to be, he is another wing the Heat could use when Jimmy Butler takes his load management time off during the regular season.
Charlotte would have to be sold on their ability to be successful with a trio of LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and Herro. That would be an offensive intriguing trio but they’d have a ton of questions defensively. Ultimately, the viability of a potential deal between the Heat and Hornets falls in the latter’s hands.
At least in my opinion, the Heat would run to make this deal.
