Heading into the start of free agency, one of the bigger storylines revolves around Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors. And the entire narrative surrounding the Warriors took made another shift after they traded Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards ahead of the 2023 NBA Draft. Even though the trade of Poole could indicate that Golden State intends on bringing back Green, I don’t think that’s a 100 percent guarantee just yet.

While I’m fairly confident that Green will be in a Warriors uniform next season, there’s still a chance that he is lured to another team in free agency. Even more so if the Warriors bang the drum on trying to get Draymond to take a bit of a pay cut while another team is willing to give him a max contract offer.

If that scenario arises, it wouldn’t be that surprising for Draymond to leave. However, I believe this core is going to get at least one more shot to win a title. If the wheels fall off again this season, perhaps we’ll get that change that many envision happening in Golden State.

For now, I still believe Draymond re-signs in Golden State.
