Miami takes on Jusuf Nurkic in a three-team deal to help Brooklyn
Let’s say the Miami Heat doesn’t have much luck in finding a team that would be willing to take on Tyler Herro other than the Brooklyn Nets, but they’re adamant about getting out from under Ben Simmons’ contract, there is a way where a deal could be crafted to possibly appease both sides. In this deal, the Heat would also take on Jusuf Nurkic from the Blazers – something that the Blazers would likely want in an ideal situation.
The Nets would land Herro and Caleb Martin (a great asset) from the Heat. In exchange for getting Martin and Herro, while also sending Simmons off, the Nets would send two first-round picks to Portland. Would that be too much for getting out of Simmons’ deal while also landing Herro and Martin? I’m not sure, but it’s not that preposterous.
The Blazers would get off of Lillard’s deal as well as Nurkic’s; a huge win for the team. They’d also get the expiring contract of Kyle Lowry which will give them cap relief next season and possibly another asset they could move at the NBA Trade Deadline. Miami would also send Nikola Jovic and Jaime Jaquez Jr. The Blazers would also get four future-first round picks (two from Miami, two from Portland) and pick swaps from Miami.
