Trade offer No. 3: A happy medium for Heat, Blazers?
Maybe there is still some negotiation that takes place between the Heat and Blazers after offers No. 1 and 2 fall through for whatever reasons. There is a potential happy medium that can be found in offer No. 3. In this deal, the Heat would send the Blazers Duncan Robinson, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Nikola Jovic. They would also send three first-round picks and two pick swaps to the Nets to give them two talented young players and three future first-round picks. That should appease the Nets.
Miami would get Damian Lillard, Dorian Finney-Smith, and a 2025 first-round pick (via Phoenix) from the Blazers and Brooklyn Nets, respectively. For their help in this deal, the Nets would get Tyler Herro and Caleb Martin from the Heat. The Heat would get two quality players and would not have to give up all of their draft capital.
The Blazers would get their healthy return and Brooklyn would also come away with an improved roster.
This is a three-team trade that makes sense for all parties. Again, for this to work, it’s going to take some compromise from both the Heat and Blazers. There are paths to getting a deal done. Are the Heat and Blazers serious about doing so?
