Key offseason move: Re-signing Naz Reid, drafting Leonard Miller
After a confusing first season with Rudy Gobert, the Minnesota Timberwolves are a team that it’s almost impossible to protect. On one hand, this team is extremely talented on paper. On the other, there’s still no guarantee that the duo of Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns can coexist together. And until that question is answered, it’s tough to really attach any type of expectation upon this team.
During the offseason, because of their lack of financial flexibility, the Wolves didn’t do much other than re-signing Naz Reid and drafting a player that might be the steal of the second round in Leonard Miller. It’s a little too early to tell on Miller but the early returns on him are extremely promising (with how he looked in NBA Summer League).
I could easily see the Wolves being a playoff team this year. However, at the same time, it wouldn’t be all that shocking if they turned in another blunder of a year and missed the playoffs completely.
