Key offseason move: Re-signing Draymond Green, trading Jordan Poole for Chris Paul

The Golden State Warriors had a title defense season to forget. Decimated by injury and drama, the Warriors’ season finally came to an end in the Western Conference semifinals. Heading into the offseason with plenty of questions, the Warriors made it pretty clear that the plan over the next few years is to try to expand this core’s NBA Championship window. That much was clear with the Warriors re-signed Draymond Green in free agency.

That wasn’t the only key move that the Warriors made this summer. On top of re-signing Green, the Warriors completed a complicated trade in which they essentially traded Jordan Poole for Chris Paul. In what may end up being one of the oddest acquisitions of the offseason, the Warriors will enter the offseason with the hope of fitting all these pieces together. But that’s going to be far from a guarantee.

Nevertheless, the Warriors have one of the most talented rosters in the Western Conference. As long as they remain healthy, the Warriors are going to play a big factor in who comes out of the conference.
