Key offseason move: Re-signed Nikola Vucevic and Coby White

With their hands tied behind their back, there wasn’t much that the Chicago Bulls could do in free agency. However, they did manage to re-sign a couple of their key free agents – Nikola Vucevic and Coby White. I’m not really sure how or if those signings make much sense from an on-court basketball point of view, but it was certainly a good move for Chicago to keep those two assets on the roster. Maybe they cash in on them at the NBA Trade Deadline or next offseason?

The injury to Lonzo Ball is truly unfortunate. Without a healthy Ball, it completely changes the outlook for the Bulls heading into the 2023-24 season. And the Zach LaVine trade whispers have done no favors for the Bulls’ outlook either. At this point, I believe there’s a better chance that the Bulls blow up their roster at the NBA Trade Deadline than making the playoffs.

Maybe the Bulls are able to be a surprise team in the Eastern Conference this season, but I really don’t see it coming to fruition. This may be a transitional year in Chicago.
