Golden State Warriors vs. Denver Nuggets – 10:00 p.m. ET

The NBA Christmas Day slate will likely end with the defending champion Denver Nuggets. Finding the right matchup for them was not all that difficult. Even though the Los Angeles Lakers make sense as an opponent for Denver here, I believe the NBA will want the Lakers to host a Christmas Day game and I don’t believe the champs deserve to be on the road during the holiday. The Warriors making the short trip does make sense too.

Golden State will be looking to get off to a better start to this season than they did last year and did make a few intriguing offseason moves to help carry some narratives into the season – the biggest of which involving Chris Paul and his completely new role that he’s, apparently, accepting.

The Nuggets will get another opportunity to prove their worth on the big stage against one of the NBA’s most beloved teams. The Nikola Jovic legend will continue to grow as he attempts to expand his reach amongst NBA fans.

This could end up being a Western Conference Finals preview and would give us a good indication of where both teams stand roughly 30 games into the new season.
