Miami Heat
Trade deadline candidate: Kyle Lowry
The Miami Heat still have plenty of uncertainty surrounding them heading into the dog days of the NBA offseason. One of the bigger questions revolves around whether or not they’re going to land Damian Lillard via trade. If so, it completely changes the narrative and outlook for this team heading into the 2023-24 season. For now, it’s difficult to assume what this roster is going to look like at the start of the seasons. However, if Kyle Lowry is still on the roster, it would almost be an assumption that he’ll be traded at some point before the trade deadline.
Not only has he proved not to be a good fit on the team but he’s entering the final year of his contract with the Heat and I find it hard to believe that either side is going to want to explore extending this deal. The experiment didn’t work and it’s in the best interest of both sides to move on.
And if the Heat does land Lillard, it will be an easier move to make. If he’s still on the roster, Lowry could be an interesting trade candidate at the deadline.
