Milwaukee Bucks
Trade deadline candidate: Bobby Portis
Coming off a disappointing showing in the playoffs in which they lost in the first round to the Miami Heat, the Milwaukee Bucks have a lot of repairing to do around the league. They must prove once again that they can be (and are) a legit threat to win the championship. With essentially the same roster, that could prove to be difficult. That could open the door for an in-season move at the NBA Trade Deadline for the Bucks.
During the offseason, there were some whispers that the Bucks were going to shop or at least explore the trade market for Bobby Portis. However, nothing materialized and the team will enter the season with him on the roster. That said, I firmly believe that if the right opportunity does present itself, it would be far from surprising to see him back on the trade block.
Portis is a good player and has been a valuable key bench contributor for the Bucks in recent years, but he’s also one of the best tradable assets Milwaukee has on its roster. If they’re going to make a trade in-season, it likely comes at his expense.
