Washington Wizards
Biggest offseason moves: Acquired Jordan Poole, re-signed Kyle Kuzma, drafted Bilal Coulibaly
Somewhat forced upon them, the Washington Wizards decided to trade Bradley Beal this offseason. In the end, the Beal was traded to the Phoenix Suns. It wasn’t a great return but the Wizards also managed to kickstart their rebuild with the addition of Jordan Poole via trade (from the Golden State Warriors) and by drafting Bilal Coulibaly.
I didn’t understand the re-signing of Kyle Kuzma but I believe it was necessary to retain the asset that he represented. And maybe this is a move that works out for both sides in the long run. That said, for a team that was pivoting toward rebuilding, I didn’t think it was the best course of action.
I’m not sure what lies ahead for the Wizards but they’ve officially made the pivot toward a rebuild. It may have been a long time coming, but it’s finally the start of a new era for the Wizards. It’ll be interesting to see how it all pans out.
