NBA Rumors: Heat star’s social media post stokes Damian Lillard to Heat flames

NBA Rumors: Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler posted a social media clip that seems to continue to push the Damian Lillard to Miami narrative.

Coming up to about a month before the start of NBA Training Camps, and there’s still no resolution between the Portland Trail Blazers and Damian Lillard. However, that hasn’t stopped the Lillard to Miami Heat trade narrative from dying out. And now Jimmy Butler has jumped into the propaganda pushing.

Sharing some highlights from his camp on Instagram, there was one interesting part that was included. After Jimmy made a basketball, he did Lillard’s signature “Dame Time” celebration. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that it was let in the highlight video.

It was clearly edited into the video to continue to push the Lillard to Heat trade narrative. This is not the first time that Jimmy has shared a social media post doing the celebration either. The fact that Lillard demanded a trade

And Jimmy isn’t the only player that is pushing the Lillard to Heat narrative has been pushed on social media. A couple of weeks ago, Lillard unfollowed the Blazers on Instagram and then later reposted a story from a fan from Miami.

I have a hard time believing this is the last time that we’ll see this narrative pushed on social media either, especially if the Heat and Blazers aren’t close to a potential deal. Interestingly enough, I think if that were the case, this is the type of activity that wouldn’t be happening.

Lillard has been clear all offseason long that he wants to be traded to the Heat. Miami has been trying to work out a deal with the Blazers but, at least for now, Portland doesn’t seem to be particularly interested in what the Heat can or has offered.

There’s some hope that the two teams will negotiate between now and the start of NBA Training Camps but even then, there’s no guarantee that a middle ground will be found by both sides. That’s probably part of the reason why Lillard has been trying to push the envelope as of late – with his social media activity and then the sit-down interview.

There’s still an overwhelming opinion that Lillard will eventually find his way to the Heat, but who knows when it ends up happening. One thing is clear, Jimmy, if his social media activity is any indication, is probably hoping it happens sooner rather than later.
