The importance of LaMelo Ball’s health

LaMelo Ball expects to be ready to go for the Hornets season opener after he missed the team’s final 19 games with a fractured right ankle. Ball has been spectacular ever since he took the floor for the Hornets, and at 22 years old, they hope that he can one day make Charlotte a city of champions and deliver the team’s first NBA title.

Ball has already made an impressive mark as he became the 2nd youngest player in NBA history to total 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, and 1,000 assists at 21 years and 177 days. LeBron James was the youngest player to accomplish that feat at 20 years and 110 days. This Hornets team is made up of athletic players who can run and play above the rim and those are the kinds of players this team needs to put around Ball.

His court vision is off the charts and if one of his teammates is open, he will find a way to get him in position to score. The best attribute Ball possesses is his ability to pass as he is famous for setting his teammates up with no-look, behind the back, between the leg passes as he is able to navigate through any defensive coverage opposing coaches throw his way.

Ball may seem like all flash and showmanship but he is a legit triple-double threat every time he touches the floor. With his blend of passing and savvy and explosive scoring ability, Ball is one of the most dynamic players in the league.

One thing that Ball can improve on is getting better at finishing at the rim. He could add a euro step or a spin move in the lane to his repertoire so it won’t be easy for defenders to predict what he does. Ball also has to get stronger as he gets bumped off his spot rather easily due to his small stature. He is a big guard but he’s smaller when he goes in the paint to contest the giants.

Health is really the only thing that can hold Ball back and this could turn out to be a career year for him.
