Breakout candidate: Oshae Brissett

Heading into the season, there’s an argument to be made that the Boston Celtics have one of the most talented rosters in the NBA. They don’t have any holes in their starting 5 and the team’s biggest questions surround their depth. One player that I believe will have to have somewhat of a breakout season if the Celtics are going to win the NBA Championship is Oshae Brissett. For now, he’s listed as the backup power forward and the Celtics are going to need the added insurance behind Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford after trading Robert Williams away.

Brissett doesn’t need to be special by any means, he just needs to take a step forward from the inconsistent player he was the previous two seasons with the Indiana Pacers. The good news is that Brissett may be in the perfect spot for him to make that type of jump.

Brissett will be surrounded by immensely talented players that will always put him in the best position to succeed. For such a talented group, it’s incredibly difficult to pinpoint a breakout candidate. However, Brissett seems like a fair choice for the Celtics.
