Breakout candidate: Jalen Duren

When discussing the Detroit Pistons, it’s easy to quickly jump to Cade Cunningham. It makes sense. After all, the Pistons will likely only go as far as Cunningham can take them. At the same rate, there is one other supremely talented who can completely raise the ceiling for the Pistons this season – Jalen Duren. After a solid rookie season, Duren will be looking to make a big jump heading into his sophomore season.

What the Pistons have to be most excited about when it comes to Duren is that there aren’t many things that he can’t do on the basketball court. He’s one of the most athletic bigs in the league and has already shown the capability of being a difference-maker on both the offensive and defensive sides of the court. All he may have to do is find a way to put it all together.

If he can do that this season, it will be a huge boost for a Pistons team that is trying to find its place as one of the most talented young teams in the Eastern Conference.
