Will the Miami Heat be a big flop this season?
Coming off a nightmarish offseason, I don’t think many realize just how crucial of a season the Miami Heat are about to embark on. After missing out on Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal, there’s some expectation that the Heat is going to take a big step back. And if that does end up happening, you can’t help but wonder how that is going to impact their actions heading into next season.
Jimmy has an expiring contract after the 2024-25 season and will be 35 at that point. The Heat can’t possibly keep going down this path with Jimmy still on the roster if they continue to delay pulling the trigger on a championship-worthy supporting cast, can they? If Miami gets off to a rough start, the whispers are only going to grow louder.
For how good of an organization Miami prides itself on being, there could be some ugly and uncertain days ahead of them. The Heat’s start could catapult them forward or set them back. Unfortunately for the Heat, they open the season against the Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Milwaukee Bucks.
Yikes.
