NBA: 4 Overreactions after Nuggets, Suns shine on opening night
The Chris Paul move might’ve been a mistake for the Warriors
While Chris Paul had his moments during the season opener for the Golden State Warriors, the way his role was handled was absolutely shocking in my opinion. Not only might’ve it been a mistake to start Paul, who finished with 14 points on 4-15 shooting from the field, but he ended up playing more minutes than any other starter on the team except Klay Thompson. It was odd from the onset. And this is something that Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has to figure out quickly.
Not to mention that the Warriors show historically bad from 3-point range on opening night. Overall, the Warriors shot 23 percent from 3-point range. Paul did his best to chip in from deep but finished 0-6 on the night.
The good news is that the Warriors didn’t look like a team that came out flat. They had their moments in the game and didn’t get blown out of the water. However, they did very much look like a team that has some sorting out to do. And at the center of those questions and/or concerns is Chris Paul.
