22. Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors are another team that finds themselves in this NBA boat of mediocrity. They’re only 2-4 on the season but considering the talent that this team has on its roster, they have no business being that “bad.” I understand it’s early on in the season and things can quickly change, but the way things are developing this season for the Raptors isn’t great. Add in the fact that it’s also something nearly everyone, except the Raptors, saw coming, and it’s going to bring about some big questions about the team’s future.

While the Raptors need to find a resolution when it comes to the not-so-distant futures of Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby, two players that can test free agency after this season, the continued emergence of Scottie Barnes in his third season is something the team could feel good about right now.

Barnes is averaging 21 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists on 53 percent shooting from the field and 39 percent shooting from 3-point range. He’s looking like he’s taken another step in his progression and this should make life a lot easier for the Raptors as they likely prepare to take the full step toward a youth movement.
