Ja Morant, Memphis Grizzlies

In what would be considered the biggest of pipe dreams, the Philadelphia 76ers would be an ideal possible landing spot for Ja Morant in the event that the Memphis Grizzlies elect to completely pivot away from the now-polarizing point guard. In a vacuum, Morant is one of the best players in the NBA. There’s an argument to be made that at the height of his powers, he’s one of the five best players in the league.

However, over the last couple of seasons, Morant’s stock has certainly taken a dip between his off-the-court issues. Morant has some regaining of trust to do with the Grizzlies and there’s no guarantee that will be able to happen. Considering the Grizzlies have gotten off to a forgettable start to the season (at 1-6), all signs point to this team taking another step back this season.

It’s highly unlikely that the Grizzlies would want to move off of Morant but if that unlikely scenario does come to fruition, the Sixers should very much be interested. And if Daryl Morey does have his sights set on something big, a possible trade for Morant would be exactly that.
