Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are the hottest team in the Eastern Conference. After losing on their opening night of the season against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Sixers have won eight straight games. They may not have the most talented team on paper but are currently sitting as the No. 1 seed in the East through the first three weeks of the season. While they have shown encouraging signs of possibly being a dark horse contender in the East, they probably need an additional star before the stretch run to be a legit threat to win the title.
That’s where a player like Zach LaVine could make sense for the Sixers. In fact, I’d argue that he may be the best possible fit for the Sixers, considering their circumstances. And with the return that the Sixers got in the James Harden deal, they have more than enough assets to pursue a player like LaVine.
LaVine would take a ton of pressure off of Tyrese Maxey, who is absolutely taking off as a star, and he would add an element that they don’t have on the wing opposite of Joel Embiid. LaVine on the Sixers is dangerous to think about. You’d have to imagine that it would be a move that Sixers general manager Daryl Morey would be willing to make too.
