16. Golden State Warriors

Dating back to last season and with how they’ve looked through the first month of this season, there’s a very real chance that the Golden State Warriors championship window is closed. I don’t want to be too overreactive over the first few weeks of the season, the Warriors don’t have that pop anymore. They looked pretty average and their 6-8 record would echo that. They’ve lost six games in a row and this team is swirling down the standings.

Aside from Stephen Curry, it’s hard to find any other Warrior on the roster who’s having a good start to the season. The Warriors don’t do anything particularly well on the court and are ranked 16th in the league on both offense and defense. Curry is averaging 31 points per game this season but the team’s second-leading scorer is Klay Thompson, who is looking like a shell of himself and averaging less than 14 points per contest.

I’m not sure if Father Time has caught up to both Draymond Green and Klay, but the optics aren’t great. It makes you question whether it’s realistically time for the Warriors to move on from this core.
