Grade the Trade: Steph, LeBron team up in LA as Warriors rebuild in bold proposal

Grade the trade for the Charlotte Hornets

You can probably insert a few teams in the place of the Charlotte Hornets here. Any third team in a potential Steph Curry to the Los Angeles Lakers deal would essentially be doing these two franchises a huge favor without the guarantee of getting something of great value in return. Specifically for the Hornets, it could be worth participating in such a deal on the off-chance of finding a diamond in the rough who may end up as a cap casualty in this deal.

In this hypothetical deal, the Hornets landing Gabe Vincent, Jalen Hood-Schifino, and Trayce Jackson-Davis may not get the franchise excited but those are three players whose best basketball could still very much be in their future. Each of those three players could benefit from a change of scenery at this point in their careers. There could be value in taking a flier on those players if you're the Hornets.

Additionally, snagging two future second-round picks is not a bad consolation prize from the Lakers either. Even if none of the other players pan out, those two picks could be worth helping get this deal done.
