In the first edition of our 2024 NBA Mock Draft, we meet the top prospects, and the San Antonio Spurs add a star next to Victor Wembanyama.

Even though there are still roughly seven months until the 2024 NBA Draft, which is scheduled for June 27, 2024, with the NBA and college basketball seasons both underway, the NBA Draft season is officially here. As has been said before and something that will be mentioned again, the 2024 NBA Draft class is not believed to be as stacked as the 2023 class. However, that doesn't mean it can't develop into one.

As we jump into our first NBA Mock Draft of the season, we'll begin to introduce a few prospects that are worth keeping an eye on as their respective seasons begin. Similarly, we'll start looking at a few NBA teams who are on track to finish with a top pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Let's get to our first NBA Mock Draft.

1. Detroit Pistons - Ron Holland, F, G League Ignite

It's safe to say that this season hasn't played out as the Detroit Pistons hoped it would. We're only a month into the regular season and there's still hope they can turn things around, but with the way it looks now the Pistons are likely going to finish with a top 5 draft pick. Right now, they enter our first mock with the No. 1 overall pick.

With the first pick, the Pistons will take Ron Holland. He opens the mock draft season as the No. 1 ranked prospect. Playing in the G League Ignite, Holland is a 6-foot-8 versatile forward who will have the ability to be a difference-maker on both ends of the floor.

As he heads into what will likely be his final season with the G League Ignite, he'll have to prove that he can be a legit superstar at the next level. Because he's yet to prove that, he's far from a lock to be selected with the No. 1 pick. Nevertheless, he's likely to remain in the conversation.
