18. Atlanta Hawks (via Sacramento) - Riley Kugel, G, Florida
The Atlanta Hawks are expected to have an additional first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft thanks to a trade made with the Sacramento Kings. After selecting a center with their first selection in the first round, the Hawks could take a flier on a guard with this pick. One prospect that could make some sense at this point in the draft is Riley Kugel, a 6-foot-5 sophomore guard who is currently playing for the Florida Gators.
Kugel decided to return for a sophomore season with the Gators in an attempt to solidify himself as a first-round pick. And so far, he's done a good job of doing so. Through the first few games of his sophomore season, Kugel is averaging 14 points and four rebounds on 41 percent shooting from the field.
Kugel still has very much to prove in terms of his offensive efficiency numbers but he'll have an opportunity to prove that he can make that shift as he makes the transition from college to the NBA. He's certainly a player to keep an eye on as the draft season develops.
