9. Houston Rockets (via Brooklyn) - Tyrese Proctor, G, Duke
The Houston Rockets have been a pleasant surprise this season but they still must figure out how to continue to add to their future. Even though Fred VanVleet has paid dividends so far this season, I wouldn't be surprised if they looked to add another backcourt player in the 2024 NBA Draft. Selecting in the top 10, if they do once again, Duke guard Tyrese Proctor could be in their range.
The 6-foot-5 guard elected to return to Duke for a sophomore season in an attempt to raise his draft stock. The hope is that he is able to continue to develop with the Blue Devils and emerge as a potential lottery pick. He has all the tools to do so and through the first handful of games of his sophomore season, he's shown to be a much more efficient offensive player.
Through six games, Proctor is averaging 13 points and six assists on 49 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent shooting from 3-point range. Proctor could be another developmental project that the Rockets decide to take a gamble on if they do finish with a lottery pick once again this season.
