NBA Trade Deadline target: Markelle Fultz, Orlando Magic

The Brooklyn Nets could find themselves in an interesting spot heading into the NBA Trade Deadline. They aren't likely in a position where they're going to be one move away from making a big jump in the Eastern Conference standings and at this point, they should probably looking to take a flier on younger players that may be fits next to Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson. One potential trade target that could arise for the Nets is Markelle Fultz.

Fultz is in the final year of his contract with the Magic and with the amount of depth that the team now has in the backcourt, especially after selecting Anthony Black with one of their lottery picks in the 2023 NBA Draft, there's no guarantee he's going to be re-signed by Orlando. The Magic also recently re-signed Cole Anthony.

For as solid as he's been for the Magic over the last few seasons, he's clearly not part of the team's foundational future. If the Nets are looking to take a flier on a talented 25-year-old, perhaps he could emerge as a possible target for the team at the trade deadline.
