CON: Defense

Getting Love would be great for the Cavs on the offensive end. However, it would mean paying the price on defense. The Cavs defense was struggling last season, especially interior defense. Although Kevin Love isn’t terrible on defense, adding him wouldn’t help their interior problems on the defensive end.

Not only that, but the Cavs would be parting ways with Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins will probably be one of the best wing defenders in a few years. By not adding Love, you get that added defensive effort on the wings. By adding Love, you not only get rid of that wing defense but you also don’t get a lot of promise down low defensively.

Also, by adding Love you take away the potential of having one of the best sets of defensive forwards in the NBA. Having LeBron and Wiggins would be scary for opposing offenses. LeBron is a lockdown defender and add to that Wiggins ability to steal and poke the ball loose. That just calls for a lot of transition alley-oops that will pump up the Cavalier fans and bring a lot of excitement.
