Rose to Rise Again?

Derrick Rose had an auspicious debut during the exhibition game against Brazil. That being said, when he missed the next games to rest his surgically repaired knees, concerns about his health were raised.

"[via ESPN] “We’re comfortable [with Rose’s readiness] based on what we’re being told by people around Derrick and what we’re being told by Derrick himself. He says he feels great and that there’s not going to be any issues going forward. So we’re going with it. We’re riding with that.”"

Riding with the 2011 MVP is in fact being in cruise control, if Rose is indeed healthy. Remember that Rose used the 2010 World championships as a springboard to that spectacular 2011 season, which had the Bulls capturing the best record and him winning the MVP.

A lot of folks are saying that this tournament could be that for him once again. With Rose on board, there was no need for another point guard, not even if it was Damian Lillard, since the team already has three.

The second point guard is Cleveland Cavaliers’ young sensation Kyrie Irving, who, according to Coach K, will alternate with D-Rose at the starting spot:

"“‘We’ll see as thing goes on,’ Krzyzewski said after Monday’s two-hour practice. ‘We might alternate ’em. Both of them are going to play significant minutes.’”"

But before the rest of the world forgets, there is another point guard on the team. And he’s not just your ordinary point guard.
