Avoid Further Damage

There are a few things worse than knee injuries in basketball. One of those things is differing to fix the initial issue, resulting in further and more complex damage.

Carmelo Anthony needs to do whatever he can in his power to avoid that. In fact, the Knicks should be all over that as well, advising Melo to avoid falling into that situation. The last thing both Melo and the franchise needs is a nine month recovery timetable after surgery in the offseason.

The Knicks want to eventually transform into a formidable team in the Eastern Conference. That’s going to be extremely tough to do in the near future without its franchise player.

Melo needs to think of his health for once, and not worry about the perception that comes with calling it a season.
