While Luol Deng‘s name hasn’t surfaced much amongst NBA trade rumors, like the other four players on this list, I believe that Pat Riley has been waiting for the right moment in order to throw his name in the hat. And said moment might’ve arrived.

After news that Goran Dragic informed the Suns that he would not re-sign with the team in the summer, and after the Heat were named as one of Dragic’s preferred destinations, potential trade scenarios involving Deng began to arise.

This could be one of those moves that Riley was waiting for in order to make Deng available. A potential deal centered around Deng for Dragic actually makes sense for both teams. The Suns would get a perimeter defender they’ve been looking for and the Heat will add much needed depth to their backcourt.

Although, it could make too much sense. More often than that, when things make too much sense in the NBA, it usually doesn’t happen.

Nevertheless, it’s a real option that both teams should consider.
