26. Flip Saunders, Minnesota Timberwolves
Flip Saunders was a great coach with the Detroit Pistons, but unfortunately the Timberwolves do not have a roster of Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace and Chauncey Billups. Saunders can only coach a certain type of team. He was not successful in Washington, because players like Javale McGee and Nick Young did not have the heart that Saunders expects from his players.
Fueled by Kevin Garnett‘s return, the Timberwolves are ready to make a run for a playoff spot, and I believe that Saunders will actually have a chance with this team. But there are still a lot of questions surrounding the potential success of Minnesota, including how well Karl-Anthony Towns will adapt to the NBA. I think that as a coach, Saunders is better than David Blatt, but I had to rank him here because of the team he is with.
Hey, I am as big of a Nikola Pekovic fan as the next guy, but I just don’t know if he is the key to a NBA title.
