The Spurs will look great from opening tip

The San Antonio Spurs don’t need preseason or even a few practice games under their belt to look good. This is the Gregg Popovich led five-time champions we’re talking about. They can – and have – inserted new pieces without missing a beat. They’ll do the same with their latest additions, David West and LaMarcus Aldridge.

Perhaps the one issue that this Spurs team might have in their bid for a sixth NBA championship could come on the defensive end – losing Tiago Splitter will hurt this team more than most are willing to admit. However, the hope – and thought – is that Popovich will make the necessary adjustments where it won’t be a glaring issue.

The Spurs will look great from opening night. They might come across some issues late in the postseason, but they’ll look better than expected early.
