What They Need: A Three-Point Shooter

Does Ray Allen have any interest in playing in the NBA again? Because if he did, the perfect spot for him would be on this Miami Heat team. He’s exactly the type of player that they need – someone that can play 20-25 minutes a night and shoot better than 38 percent from three-point range.

Right now, their best three-point shooter is Chris Bosh (Tyler Johnson, who is shooting 39 percent, is only attempting two per game). And for a team that wants to challenge the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference, your best outside shooter can’t also be your best center.

Problem is, the Heat don’t exactly have many assets to move at the trade deadline. All they have, that might even slightly be envied by opposing teams is Josh McRoberts, who hasn’t played since early-December, Hassan Whiteside, who really doesn’t have any value considering that he becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer and no one has his bird rights, Luol Deng, who is probably closer to retirement than he is to his prime, and Justise Winslow, but me and you both know that he isn’t going anywhere.

The Heat aren’t in the best position (assets wise), but need to make a move before the trade deadline if they hope to make a move in April and May.
